ABOUT
Fabiana Burr (b. 1987), original from CDMX, Mexico, is a multifaceted sound artist, vocalist, facilitator of water ceremonies, and a seeker exploring the realms of poetry, vibration, and somatic movement with clay and botanical dyes.
Her background dwells from directing documentaries for music festivals to creating video art and engaging in ritualistic performances. For the past 8 years, Burr has shared her craft in sound and harmonizing, inspired by contact water dance, water therapies and deep listening underwater, during her transformative journey in Bali starting 2016.
Fabiana's work reveals the delicate interplay of light magnified through water (ocean, hot springs, or pristine waters), orchestrated by the rhythmic patterns of sound vibrations that resonate deeply within the human-nature interconnectedness.
All encapsulated within a magical jícara or natural bowl, symbolizing the mother's womb. The remnants of the water-light experiments leave behind a trace of the dancing elements. This series is a dynamic work-in-progress.
ARTIST STATEMENT
In Fabiana's artistic journey, water emerges as the main symbol of life and transformation. Inspired by its omnipresence in nature and the human body, her work delves into the interplay between ideas and the timeless rhythms of existence.
Through her art, Fabiana contemplates the parallel worlds within the human mind, resonating with the fluid dynamics of personal and ecological interactions.
Her creative process involves transforming sound into a visual symphony, drawing inspiration from the natural harmony and balance it embodies.
Fabiana's artistic exploration serves as a sanctuary where the convergence of water, light, and sound unveils the symbols that connect body, mind, and spirit. Here, ancient wisdom meets modern technology in a quest to reveal the profound beauty and complexity of our shared human experience.
